Do you love soft romantic vibes? Mismatched florals? The brand Love Shack Fancy? If so, have we got the wedding for you! NYC couple Dariana, who owns a children’s modelling agency, and Dylan, a mural artist, had the loveliest, most intimate garden Jewish wedding at the bride’s dad’s house on the East End of Long Island.
The pair worked with Susie Blumenfeld at Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Pink House Productions to make their dream day a reality – and she completely nailed it, in just 8 weeks (and during peak COVID, no less)! Susie made the process totally stress-free for the couple – so much so that their top piece of advice for engaged couples is to hire an event planner! Pink House Productions also designed the couple’s gorgeous paper goods – don’t miss them in the beautiful photos by Andreas and Nico.
We love the duo’s colorful ketubah from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor ketubah.com – and Darianaand Dylan can’t say enough about how helpful and fast the service was!
Dariana was five months pregnant with the couple’s first child on the big day, and she found the most perfect maternity gown from Seraphine – absolutely a perfect fit for a romantic garden wedding, especially when topped with the most exquisite veil from Monvieve-Milano.
We also love that Dariana and Dylan ended off their wedding with a Mr Softee truck! The iconic NYC ice cream truck was the perfect nod to the couple’s home city – plus, who doesn’t love a surprise soft serve?!
A Wedding on the Water
Dariana, the bride: The wedding took place at my Dad’s house which in on the East End of Long island NY. It is on the water and has so much sentimental meaning. This was a small family wedding so it was quite intimate there.
Romantic Florals
The feeling that we wanted for the wedding was like the brand “love shack fancy” that was our inspiration. Very floral, mismatched and romantic. We used some Love Shack linens and napkins as well.
Invitations / stationery
Pink House Productions did all of our paper goods. With all of the patterns used, we were very simple and had just gold accents.
Hair + Make-up
My hair and make-up was by Samantha Agostino Makeup
Dress
The dress was from Seraphine maternity because we were 5 months pregnant. It happened to be very romantic and perfect for a garden wedding.
Accessories
The veil was so so special. It was from Monvieve-Milano. It was a special length and pulled the romantic look together.
Shoes
Definitely NOT skyscrapers at 5 months pregnant in the grass. Simple shoes, nothing special.
The handsome groom
Dylan wore a Ralph Lauren suit. We were looking ofr a specific shade of blue which went with the overall Aesthetic. It was perfect and also matched his blue eyes perfectly.
Ceremony
The best part of the ceremony was that we got to know the Rabbi (Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn) on zoom calls and he has a special touch where he asks you to write a letter to your spouse. You don’t know that he has you read them during the ceremony. The Ceremony looked over the water. So peaceful.
Ketubah
The ketubah was from ketubah.com and they were so helpful and fast. Tani Gordon was a pleasure to work with.
Chuppah
All based on the overall super romantic look and pastel color scheme we had to have to fit into the natural setting. It wa natural without being too rustic.
Flowers
Lots and lots of pale pink garden roses. “quick sand” roses, and cream roses, pale pink hydrangeas and peonies. Baby’s breath filled the containers at the bar. Our florist was Stefan’s Florist
Photographer and videographer
Andreas and Nico were the photographers and videographers. They definitely captured the wedding and us well.
Food and Cake
This was a kosher wedding with Judy Marlow from Simply Divine Kosher Catering. Yes we did have a cake. The cake was super important, because we love cake. It was an ‘unfinished’ look and was made by Jerri’s Cakes in Westhampton Beach, NY.
Entertainment
Gotham Events NYC was our DJ. Which was perfect, because they didn’t overwhelm our guests. We did all dance under the tent. It was fun.
My dad also played a song on his guitar that he wrote for us. It was really special.
Favors
We had a Mr Softee truck at the end of the wedding. We live in NYC and Mr. Softee is a staple as far as Ice cream trucks go. We love it. It was a fun touch
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
Hire an Event planner. Susie Blumenfeld at Pink House Productions took the bull by the horn. She planned this in about 8 weeks and completely nailed the look that we wanted. It was the height of Covid and we worked through zoom calls. She travelled from CT to LI and Manhattan for site visits and meetings with vendors. It was stress free and we showed up and it was exactly what we wanted.
