How gorgeous is this incredible chuppah?! We’re totally and completely obsessed with the all-white floral masterpiece Diletta, an architect, and Stefano, a consultant, dreamed up for their big day. Everything looks SO perfect, you’d never guess they had to drastically change their plans midstream due to COVID – including a change of venue to better accommodate their reduced guest list.
Luckily, the pair ended up at beautiful Villa Miani, one of our very favorite Roman venues, and with some help from their wedding planner, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Deborah di Castro, and their vendor team, everything came together perfectly – despite the uncertainty that came with planning amidst fears of a new lockdown. (As it happened, Diletta and Stefano’s wedding date fell at a time when cases were low in Italy – but one month later, Rome was back in lockdown.)
Diletta had a strong vision for her wedding from the get-go: a sophisticated all-white look, carried out in her florals, that fabulous chuppah, and of course her Acquachiara gown, adorned with hundreds of white fabric “petals.” Don’t miss all the exquisite details in Azeta‘s photos and Sesame Films’ trailer.
How we Met
Diletta, the bride: We met at a friend’s party.
Change of Plans
We got married in Rome at Villa Miani, we chose it because it’s a beautiful villa and because it was equipped to handle any unforeseen event. Originally we were supposed to get married at the Hilton in Rome because we were having more than 400 people and it had a big interior in case of rain. But unfortunately, because of the covid we had to change our minds and look for a place for fewer people.
We decided to change our plans, hoping we’d actually be able to go through with our plans and get married, and we did. One month later and it would have been impossible.
White Wedding
I had a wedding planner, Deborah di Castro, who listened to my requests. I wanted total white and sophisticated wedding.
Invitations
The wedding planner helped me, we went to a very good printer and I had fun creating the logo that was used everywhere, from the menu, to the vodka shot and favors for the guests.
Hair + Makeup
I went to Claudio Noto, a well known makeup artist in Rome, and the hairdresser was Damiano Ceccarelli.
An Acquachiara Dress
My dress was made by Acquachiara a bespoke bridal atelier. It was a corset with a wide skirt made of petals, every single petal attached on by one by hand.
Accessories
I had just a veil.
Shoes
My shoes where simple with the plateau nothing particular.
The handsome groom
My husband wore a custom-made suit from an Italian tailor Donald.
Bridesmaids
I had six bridesmaids dressed in green with a small bouquet like mine total white made with orchids.
Ceremony
The part I loved most about my wedding was definitely the ceremony under the chuppah, which was exactly as I wanted it under a roof of white flowers
Ketubah
The ketubah was made by the temple.
Chuppah
The chuppah was made completely in white, the wedding planner and the florist understood us and did a fantastic job using wonderful flowers.
Our Music Choice
We had the Goldsingers, a band from Marseille, and during the ceremony a DJ with famous songs for the chuppah.
Flowers
The florist was Flo-w floral couture and they used a lot of orchids. My bouquet was all white, all made of orchids.
Photographer and videographer
The videographer was Sesame Films; he was introduced to me by my wedding planner Deborah di Castro.
Food and Cake
The catering was Relais Le Jardin, the catering of the villa, and the cake was Giordana Guetta, a Jewish cake designer who makes kosher cakes.
Entertainment
We had Goldsingers, a group from Marseille.
Favors
We gave our guests a small bag with masks, hand sanitizer, dancing shoes and scarf and to the men the kippoth.
Extra details
It was a difficult wedding to plan because every day there was the fear of a new lockdown and until the last minute I didn’t know if we could do it or not. I have to say that my mum and the wedding team found many solutions to entertain the guests and give me the wedding of my dreams.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
This experience has made me realise that there is nothing more important than getting married in any way, because before it seemed like a foregone conclusion and now it’s a miracle just to be under a chuppah. So, brides, don’t change your plans and do it even if it’s not your dream wedding.
