We can’t get enough of today’s gorgeous Jewish wedding on the water on the Florida coast! Jennifer, an ICU nurse, and Danny, a urologist, made things official at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, where they found the perfect venue for their timeless and elegant three-day celebration.
Naturally, Jennifer and Danny needed the perfect classic ketubah to complement their vibe – and they found just the thing from Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Noa Attias. Like all of Noa’s ketubahs, the gorgeous design the couple chose is truly a piece of art, and Jennifer and Danny are thrilled to be able to display it in their home. Don’t miss it in the beautiful photos from Carrie Wildes!
We also love that when it came time for their mini-moon, Jennifer and Danny opted to spend it at Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas! Just a 1.5 hour flight from their home in Tampa, it was the absolute perfect spot for the couple to relax and decompress after all the excitement of the wedding – and they especially enjoyed eating at the hotel’s kosher Asian fusion restaurant, Cinko!
There’s so much more to say, but we’ll let Jennifer fill you in on the rest…
How We Met
Jennifer, the bride: We met in early 2020 on bumble while we were living in Washington, D.C.
A Wedding on the Water
We got married in Clearwater Beach, FL at the Sandpearl Resort. We picked this wedding venue because it just had that ‘WOW’ factor when we went to tour it. We had 3 days of wedding events at this venue and they were very accommodating and easy to work with. They allowed us to bring in our own kosher catering company.
Timeless Elegance
Danny and I wanted a wedding that represented us as a couple. We wanted a timeless, elegant wedding that would never go out of style. Something memorable for us and our guest. We opted to have a black-tie wedding. It was so nice seeing our family and friends dressed beautifully while celebrating us.
Gold, white, different shades of pink and purple were the main colors in our wedding. We picked these colors because they’re beautiful and easy colors to work with. I did all of the wedding planning and had a day of wedding coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Invitation
Ruth Cohen did our wedding invitations. We had a Jewish wedding invitation with our names under a chuppah. She pays a lot of attention to detail and made our wedding invitations BEAUTIFUL! We also used the design of our wedding invitation as table numbers.
Hair + Makeup
I decided on a half up/ half down hairdo. I think this style goes the best with my face and made me feel comfortable. I went light and natural on my makeup. I usually don’t wear makeup so I didn’t want to feel uncomfortable on my wedding day.
Dress
I had a combination of a trumpet and mermaid white satin wedding dress. It was the first dress I tried on at the store. I knew it was the one as soon as I tried it on. I bought it at a small boutique store in Tampa, FL called Truly Forever Bridal.
Accessories & Shoes
I got my wedding shoes from Badgley Mischka. I had a long white veil with a small veil that covered my face for the Badeken ceremony.
Bridesmaids
All of my bridesmaids wore a long satin chianti colored dressed. All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful and classy.
Ceremony & Chuppah
We got married under a beautiful chuppah with Danny’s grandfather’s tallit on top of the chuppah. We literally felt like he was there with us during this special moment.
The ceremony was the most important element of our wedding. Getting married under the most gorgeous chuppah to my best friend was far beyond special. Both our parents stood under chuppah along with Rabbi Weizman and Rabbi Upbin. There was so much love and joy felt not only in the chuppah but all around the room.
My mother-in-law, Sandy Goodman, did a fantastic job planning and incorporating every guest at our ceremony. There was a moment during our ceremony where every guest stood up and read us one of the seven sheva brachot (wedding blessing). It was so special being blessed by the people who we love the most. We will never forget this moment!
I designed the chuppah with help of our wedding florist. I opted to have something elegant yet classic. Our wedding cake ended up in the chuppah after our ceremony which I thought was a great idea. Seeing Danny see me for the first time was one of my favorite moments. I can just see in his eyes how beautiful I looked.
Ketubah
Our Ketubah was made by Noa Attias. The detail that Noa attias put into our ketubah was not only special but a piece of art. I can’t wait to display our ketubah in our home! Everything from the packaging to the ketubah itself was beautiful!
Our music choice
We had a DJ/ MC at our wedding. We played pretty. much every genre of music. We wanted music that made everyone get up from their chair and dance. Our DJ/MC was on American Idol. He is the best singer/DJ in the Tampa Bay area, DJ Jonathan Cortez
Flowers
White Majolica Spray Roses, White Hydrangeas, Lavender Stock Flower were the main flowers we used by Artistry Designs.
Photographer
I had Carrie Wildes capture our special moment. I didn’t feel stressed and she let us do our own thing. I honestly didn’t even notice she was there. We did capture beautiful moments.
Food and cake
The Sandpearl Resort catered our wedding. Lynn Catering Service in Tampa catered our rehearsal dinner event for us on Friday. They are a kosher catering service in Tampa, FL.
Honeymoon
We went to the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas for our mini-moon. We choose the Bahamas because it’s 1.5 hour flight from Tampa, FL. We were so mentally exhausted from the wedding that we just wanted to go somewhere close with a nice beach. It worked out perfectly for us! Our plan is to do our actual honey moon in Hawaii. I’m not sure when because we are pregnant but it’s in the works!
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
I was very stressed the days leading up to the weekend. The day of the wedding I came to realized that there wasn’t much I had in my control so I left it up to God. I promised myself I was not going to stress anything. I set my mind up to just live in the moment and embrace the best day of my life.
Live in the moment and milk every second of your wedding day! It was the most memorable and happiest day of our life.
