What is it about Tel Aviv weddings? There’s just something unfailingly chic about them, each and every time. And that goes double for the stylish Jewish wedding of Shoshanny, a lawyer, and Gal, a specialist in back and spinal problems.
They picked their super cool venue, Ray, partially because it reminded them of the very chicest spots in Paris – and we can totally see it. We’re also kind of obsessed with those blush pink seats. And the extravagantly sized fan-shaped greenery used in the table arrangements – such a distinctive choice! Don’t miss the photos from Haim Afriat and video by Nir Tenenbaum.
Then there’s Shoshanny’s bridal style. It’s hard to believe she purchased her elegant gown just five weeks before her big day – and found it by chance strolling the streets of Tel Aviv – but that’s how it happened. We love the silhouette, the off-the-shoulder style, the big bow – basically everything about this stunner from Shay Peretz (who also made Shoshany a totally gorgeous veil).
We’ll let the bride take it from here…
How we met
Shoshanny, the bride: I had lots of bad dates before I met Gal, while Gal was looking for his next hookup… we met on Tinder, and both without any expectations. Gal told me he will never get married, while I was looking for love, not necessarily marriage.
Date after date, one thing led to the other, till one day Gal asked me out of the blue to move in together (after 5 months), I was half asleep and in the morning I wasn’t even sure it happened… maybe I imagined it or dreamed about it… so after two weeks Gal told me that he is still waiting for an answer. I asked – to what question. He said – moving in together. And I replied – oh, so it really did happen. Believe it or not, a month later we decided to get married. We got married about a year afterwards.
Paris Meets Tel Aviv
We live in Tel Aviv, where most of our friends and family live as well, so it was convenient to have our wedding in Tel Aviv area. Ray was the perfect choice for us. In our opinion it’s the most beautiful venue in town. It reminds us of chic and stylish places in Paris. Food wise it’s by far the most delicious place to hold a kosher wedding. Having Yonatan Roshfeld as our chef was a great choice.
A Fab Planner
Our most important and most wise decision was working with a wedding planner. Meeting Liad Bar Ilan was love at first sight. The chemistry among us three was amazing all through this important step in our life. Liad from LBI Productions shared all his great knowledge and endless experience with us. He immediately understood our unique taste and style and we felt right at start that we made the best decision in letting him create our perfect wedding. Liad took all our worries away and made our dreams reality. Furthermore, Liad saved us tons of money, he negotiated with all of our suppliers and got us the best prices possible.
Party Invitations
We decided not to go the usual traditional way, and wanted more of a high class party invitation. It was important for us to choose simple but prestigious colors which made us go for plated gold on an off white background. Our invitation was also kind of an itinerary and promo to the wedding itself.
A Shay Peretz Dress
Hair + Makeup
My makeup was made by Rivka Avraham Politi, who I’m friend with. I chose her for her great talent, flexibility, and great character. I preferred the more natural look, showing my freckles which I love, and she went along with my choices and made me look amazing. Her younger, equally talented sister did my hair, I knew exactly how I wanted my hair to look like and she fulfilled my vision. The hair as well as the makeup lasted the entire evening.
Old and New Accessories
I purchased only a pair of earrings especially for the wedding, bought along with my wedding dress from Pistach by Shay Peretz. When visiting my aunt in Jerusalem she surprised me with a present, an antique white gold and diamond bracelet. She kept this bracelet, a present from her mother – my grandmother – for my wedding day. This way it felt like my grandmother took part in our wedding. The rest of my jewelry was presents from my future husband.
Loriblu Shoes
The handsome groom
My handsome groom was wearing a black tuxedo made by Dsquared2, white shirt with black buttons also by Dsquared2, cufflinks by Mont Blanc, and Jimmy Choo shoes, each shoe plated with 28,000 Swarovski crystals.
Flower girls
I had four flower girls. We bought their dresses in Rome while visiting part of my family, who attended the wedding as well.
