Today’s Jewish wedding features one special chuppah! Talia and Benjamin chose to wed at Crossed Keys Estate in New Jersey, where they were able to have the indoor/outdoor day of their dreams – including a stunning garden spot for their chuppah.
We absolutely love the fact that Talia’s parents created their chuppah as a new family heirloom, with the inside featuring a family tree that gets added to at each wedding. Since Talia has three siblings, each of the four sides of the chuppah belongs to one of them – and as each sibling gets married, along with their partner they add a quote to their side of the chuppah.
Talia and Benjamin chose Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Alex Knight for photography and videography – when they met Alex, they knew he was someone they’d enjoy spending time with on their big day, and the results absolutely speak for themselves.
Read on for all the gorgeous images – plus the full story of the special day in Talia’s own words…

How we Met
Talia, the bride: We met in high school choir and have been together since then! We dated for 10 years – among them 5.5 yrs of long distance!

Venue
Our venue was Crossed Keys Estate – we knew we wanted an element of our wedding to be outside in nature but also didn’t want our guests to be too hot. We felt our venue was the perfect in between!

Theme + Coordinator
We didn’t have a specific theme. We did all the planning ourselves and had a day of coordinator, Audra from The Day of Company.

Hair + Makeup
Loved my makeup artist Joanna from Alexa Rae Makeup. I’m not someone that wears makeup regularly and she was very understanding of that. She was so calm and made my morning so relaxing.

Dress
The dress was Rivini by Rita Vinieris and bought it at the Wedding Salon at Manhasset. Story here is that I had gone to this store a week before and found a dress I loved but wasn’t sure it was the one. On the second visit I asked to try on a few more dresses to be sure I loved my choice. I ended up try another dress (the one I chose).

It turned out that the dress I ended up picking was a special order that had shipped that morning- it was a from a different season and someone else had requested to see it.

Ceremony & Chuppah
We were married by our cousin Rabbi Hody Nemes who made our ceremony so personal.
Ben arranged an acapella piece that his college acapella friends sang as Talia circled Ben at the chuppah.

We used a chuppah that my parents created as new family heirloom. The inside of the chuppah is a family tree that gets added to at each wedding. I have 3 sibling so each of the four sides of the chuppah belongs to a sibling – each couple puts their own quote on each side of the chuppah.

Our ketubah was designed by Mayim Arts. We had several meetings with Ali (the artist) and she made sure to really tailor it to make it meaningful to us.

Our music choice
We had a band from Hank Lane.

Flowers
The venue has an onsite florist who is amazing! We did a mix of white and light pink florals.

Photographer & videographer
Our photographer and videographer was Alex Knight – we felt he was someone we’d enjoy spending time with during the day and who could work well with your many family members.
