This UK Jewish wedding’s got it all: stunning countryside setting, gorgeous gown, delectable food, exquisite stationery, and, of course, an epic floral chuppah.
Talia and Isaac found the perfect canvas for their wedding dreams in Essex’s Braxted Park, a country house venue nestled among magical gardens and picture-perfect pavilions. Given the verdant surroundings, the pair opted for a simple green and white theme, complementing the natural beauty – captured so perfectly in Beccy Goddard’s photography.
Talia and Isaac’s lovely stationery, designed by Talia’s sister-in-law Alissia from Studio Alissia, kept with the theme – and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Big Day Designs printed the invitations and on-the-day stationery to perfection.
Of course no Jewish wedding is complete without delicious food, and Talia and Isaac got the best of the best with Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Dvash. In Talia’s words, “Everything was perfect. From the drinks table when guests arrived, to the canapes and stations at the drinks reception to the main meal and after party food! The feedback from our guests was incredible – everything was so beyond delicious, and Dvash’s staff provided an excellent service.”
There’s so much more to say about this very special wedding –for instance, we were so thrilled to hear that Talia and Isaac opted to use Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Prezola for their wedding gift list – but we’ll turn you over to Talia for the rest…
How we Met
Talia, the bride: We met on my first day of university at UCL! Isaac had already been there for a year. We were friends for a while whilst we were there at UCL, and 2 years later started dating (Science Library we owe it all to you!)
A Country House Venue
We got married at Braxted Park, a beautiful country venue in Witham, Essex. After changing direction due to Covid from a wedding in Israel, we tried to find a venue that would tick all our boxes in terms of capacity, beauty, and vibe. When I came across Braxted Park on Instagram, I had a hunch it would be just what we were looking for! The magical gardens and pavilion gave us the perfect canvas to create our dream wedding.
Green and White
Sophie Amor was so unbelievable to work with, we loved every second with her! Her creativity and vision for our wedding totally aligned with all of the ideas we had; it was the perfect match! We decided quite early on we would go for a simple ‘green and white’ theme, with touches of pastels here and there!
Invitations / stationery
My very talented sister-in-law Alissia from Studio Alissia designed all our stationery! From invitations, to benchers, to fans, to menus… every element was hand painted and printed to perfection. Our invitations and on-the-day stationary were printed by Big Day Designs.
Hair + Make-up
Both Gaby and Pantea were so incredible to have around on the day of the wedding. Both of their energies were positive and calming, yet fun – key to the glam squad! Needless to say, they are both super talented and I loved hair and makeup.
Accessories
I purchased my veil from an independent veil designer, Madeleine Daisy Veils, on Instagram. Maddy and I worked together to create my dream veil, she is so talented!
Dress
It was the first dress I tried and totally the opposite of what I expected to wear! I just fell in love with it from the moment I tried it.
Ceremony and Chuppah
Our chuppah ceremony was the most magical moment of the day. With a field of daisies as the backdrop, our chuppah was so beyond beautiful. We knew we wanted a super green and floral chuppah, keeping in the natural theme of green and white. Miri at Flowers by Miri created the most amazing structure and completely encapsulated our vision and brought it to life.
Ketubah
Our ketubah was designed by my uncle, an incredible artist called David Breuer-Weil. He made the ketubah in the theme of the 7 species, with some meaningful personal touches. It was so special to have a family member design our ketubah, which we will cherish forever.
Our Music Choice
The overall music theme of the wedding was a mix of traditional Jewish, Israeli, Arab, Spanish and modern music, catering to our mixed range of guests. My family is Iraqi-Moroccan-Israeli and Isaac’s family is Moroccan-Spanish – a true mix of cultures! Muzika’s wild energy throughout the dance sets and dinner was followed by an electric afterparty by DJ Johnny Bluestone. Our first dance was to the song ‘Ahava Kazo’ by Idan Raichel.
Flowers
Flowers by Miri produced the most stunning floral arrangements and ceiling for our wedding. She effectively created a floral wonderland within the pavilion which completely transformed it into a new venue altogether. Our Chuppah, aisle, escort table, venue entrance, and table centres were also pivotal to the beauty of the event – Miri really delivered the best floral experience I have ever seen!
Photographer
I came across Beccy Goddard’s page on Instagram and was instantly drawn to reach out to her. Her photos and portfolio are beautiful, capturing every detail, emotion, and moment so perfectly. Working with Beccy and Helen on our wedding day was a pure pleasure – they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera! We love our taster images and are so excited to see the rest!
Food and Cake
When we met Miri, Dor and Gaby we knew we wanted Dvash to be our wedding caterer. Everything was perfect. From the drinks table when guests arrived, to the canapes and stations at the drinks reception to the main meal and after party food! The feedback from our guests was incredible – everything was so beyond delicious, and Dvash’s staff provided an excellent service.
