It’s no secret that I’m a massive Karen Millen fan. I’ve been a loyal and enthusiastic customer ever since I can remember. I shopped there when I fancied myself as a glam London girl about town. I wore Karen Millen for dates in my single days and still wear Karen Millen for date nights with Mr. STG to this day. I wear Karen Millen to work events, business meetings, weddings (Karen Millen makes fabulous wedding guest outfits)… did I mention I’m a fan?
So I thought it was about time that I wrote my long-overdue love letter to Karen Millen on this blog — and since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I thought I’d make your Valentine’s Day outfit choices just that little bit easier (unless, like me, you fall in love with everything!)
Here are my top ten Valentine’s Day date night looks from the Karen Millen SS17 Collection.
Navy jumpsuit
A perfect work-to-evening look for date nights after a busy day in the office. Style it down with a blazer during the day for a more professional look and style it up with some classic jewellery and a sleek clutch to stun for a Valentine’s date.
Lily print dress
We love this flirty, floral and feminine pencil dress. The off-the-shoulder design adds just a hint of sex appeal to a classic look.
Frill blouse
A casual date night go-to blouse for an evening at the movies or a post-work date. Dress up with a lovely skirt or culottes or dress down with a pair of skinny jeans and heels for a no-fuss (but all-frills) outfit.
Burgundy ruffle midi dress
With its sexy v-neckline and deep, sultry burgundy shade, this is the perfect dress for a chilly date night and a wonderful choice to wear from dinner to cocktails or anywhere else you might want to go.
Green dress
Can we take a second to gush over the pleated slit skirt? What a stunner. We love this structured, figure-enhancing green dress, a great choice for a dinner date, a night at the movies, a cocktail bar or even a cosy meal for two at home.
Red dress
Why not go full siren for a va-va-voom Valentine’s Day daring look? We adore the slight ruching around the waist and sexy boatneck neckline of this dress — perfect for accentuating an hourglass figure.
Embroidered lace dress
For a subtle elegance, you can’t go wrong with this fabulous long-sleeved and high necked embroidered lace dress. A more laid-back incarnation of the classic little black dress, it’s perfect for a lovely restaurant date without being too OTT.
Floral multicoloured maxi dress
Florals are such a big look for spring, and this maxi dream is the ideal outfit for a romantic, non-traditional date night, particularly if you’re going somewhere smart casual and you don’t want to go for a cocktail party vibe. It’s also a great choice for a daytime date, matched up with a cute cardigan.
Black and white polka dot dress
This fabulous polka-dot patterned frock evokes echoes of 1950’s style while still being oh-so contemporary. This is another one you can wear to work and then pair with killer heels and a divine clutch bag to dress it up for an evening date.
White pleated shirt dress
Hello daytime date! If you’re heading out for a more casual, daytime Valentine’s Day celebration, this sweet and timeless white pleated shirt dress will look absolutely amazing. Pair with some colour-pop cherry red accessories and a red lip to bring the whole look together for Valentine’s Day.
