Natalie & Olivier | Elegant Jewish wedding at the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, Israel

11/09/2015 by Karen

Waldorf-Astoria-Jerusalem-wedding
Today I’m blogging a beautifully  elegant affair from the heart of Jerusalem  that shows you  that you don’t necessarily have to incorporate a rainbow of colour or an abundance of details to have the wedding of your dreams. A destination wedding  in Israel’s historical capital city, Natalie and Olivier’s  white-on-white minimal theme is thoroughly  timeless and  perfectly set against the glorious backdrop of Jerusalem.

Minimal it may be, but  will you just look at that custom-designed  Inbal Dror  wedding dress?  I give you full permission to be green with envy over it — it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Not only is Natalie  an incredibly beautiful bride, all glowing skin and glossy locks, but her and her French husband Olivier were one of the first couples ever to hold their wedding at the brand new  Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, the city’s latest luxury venue.

Simple, elegant, fun, and relaxed — this wedding is perfectly executed in every way. Photography is by  Chiko  who’s making his debut appearance today on STG. Welcome to ‘Club Smashing’ , Chiko!

Choosing to marry in Jerusalem

Natalie, the bride: I was born in Jerusalem and it is a very special place to me, it has a lot of sentimental value and is a really unique place. We loved the idea of the  Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem because it was brand new. We were the first or second wedding there and the decor is just fabulous so there wasn’t much that we  needed to do in terms of styling.

A minimal style

We  picked a very natural and elegant style for the day, focusing on pinks and whites for the colours, and along with the florist we agreed on a very ‘minimal’ look. We didn’t need to do too much as the venue was decorated so beautifully.

An Inbal Dror dress

The dress was designed and custom made by Israeli designer  Inbal Dror. We  sat together and designed the dress. I wanted something really ‘bridal’ yet elegant and wanted to feel like a real bride rather than wearing something that could look like an average evening dress. With Inbal’s talent for  design I felt  this really came off and the dress made me feel really special.

accessories

I wore a veil and my hairdresser, Israeli stylist,  Yaniv Zadda  styled my hair for the occasion. I wore some earrings that my husband bought for my birthday as they were very special to me.

I wore white shoes with a high heels studded with  diamantà©!

A Tom Ford groom

My husband wore a Tom Ford suit. I absolutely love Tom Ford and his suits are so classy and fit really well, so I pretty much decided on this for him but he looked great in it.

Hair + make up

My make-up artist was Israeli make up artist  Asaf Babo, and my hair stylist was  Yaniv Zadda —both of them were amazing and really made me feel great!

the ceremony

The ceremony on the whole is very special and sentimental — definitely my favourite part of the wedding. It was very emotional and special to us particularly  being in such a historic city, and surrounded by all our family and friends.

our fabulous photographer

We decided on  Chiko Photography as he is always so professional and amazing. He takes the most wonderful  photos and knows exactly where  to be in the right place at the right time to capture the most special and important moments of the day. We have known him for a while now and his work is fantastic. All the photos from the wedding were incredible!

Entertainment

We had a wedding band called Legend who were great!
