Liran & Etay | Desert Wedding at Mitzpe Ramon, Israel

Isn’t this photograph one of the most dramatic wedding portraits you’ve ever seen? Well if you’ve ever thought of getting married amid a breathtakingly beautiful primeval landscape ie. *the desert*, and you choose the oh so talented Dima Vazinovich as your wedding photographer, then that’s the kind of shot you’ll end up with!

Today’s gorgeous couple, Liran and Etay, chose the Beresheet hotel, a destination spa hotel in Israel’s Negev desert, as their wedding venue as they wanted somewhere where they could relax and enjoy quality time with their guests over the course of a few days, and additionally somewhere that reflected their modest and serene personalities.

WHY WE DECIDED TO HAVE OUR WEDDING IN THE DESERT
Liran, the Bride: Well before Etay popped the question we started talking about having a destination wedding and getting married somewhere abroad. The idea was that our guests wouldnʻt feel like theyʻre at a wedding but like theyʻre on a little holiday (weddings go so fast we wanted to enjoy time with our loved ones over the course of at least a couple of days and hang out at ease as much as possible).

Having gotten engaged and established an idea of guest count we realised that we needed to find a venue in Israel. Last year we enjoyed our stay at Beresheet Spa Hotel in Mitspe Ramon so much that we decided that this would be the best place for us: peaceful, calming, romantic and the exact sense of beauty that we were looking for.

Deborah & Alex | Secret Garden Jewish Wedding at Baya’ar, Israel

I love this wedding. Fact.

Deborah and Alex got married in a truly spectacular venue in Israel. It’s a colourful garden wedding with some incredible creative details and beautiful outdoor ceremony. I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for Israeli weddings. I’m not sure whether it’s their raw edged beauty, the party-loving Israeli energy, the outdoor vibe or the amazing scenery. Whatever the ‘x-factor’ may be, I’m so thrilled to be sharing this special wedding with you today.

Deborah and Alex first met aged 6 at a mutual friends birthday party and despite going to the same school, and both spending their gap years in Australia and New Zealand, they only met properly at Leeds University after being introduced by a good friend of both of theirs.

I’ll now hand over to the lovely Deborah for the tale of their wedding.

THE VENUE AND ‘SECRET GARDEN’ THEME
Deborah, The Bride: As a proud Zionist it was always my dream to marry in Israel. I wanted to ditch the formality of hotels and find something unique and personal. On one of our visits to Israel Alex and I visited a variety of venues in and around the Tel Aviv area. We had originally wanted a venue by the sea but there was none that were large enough. However when we saw Baya’ar (meaning the forest) we fell totally in love with it. It looked like a villa set within beautiful gardens and was both natural and spectacular.. The beautiful link between the modern interior and scenery outside was perfect. Lush, green, intimate and yet modern and elegant.

Inspired by our venue, the theme of the wedding became ‘the secret garden’. The colour scheme was multi-coloured (the bolder and brighter the better!) with yellow as the dominant colour. I wanted it to feel summery and vibrant.

As we were getting married abroad, we created a wedding website full of information about the various events and holiday tips for where to eat, go out and party in Israel.

INVITATION DESIGN
I designed the invitation myself as I couldn’t find anything I liked. The white card I was so frequently shown I found boring. Instead I designed the invitation to reflect the venue and theme with summery yellows and greens and an illustration of a tree engraved with our initials. It was modern and informal and despite the design process becoming quite stressful we were thrilled with the results (plus it was a fraction of the cost).

Sandra & Re’em | Israeli Wedding at Bamboo Village Beach, Netanya, Israel

This is a gorgeous joy-filled Israeli wedding, set in a dream-like beach setting that as well as being phenomenally stylish, oozes a cool-factor and an almost Ibiza-like feel-good atmosphere. Get ready for some serious beach wedding eye candy!

Sandra had the awesome idea of giving wedding-branded flip-flops for her guests to wear once the dance party got in full swing. Genius and a great keepsake too!

A little bit about this à¼ber-cool couple: Sandra hails from Belgium, Re’em from Israel and they met whilst they both were living in London (where they still live) through mutual friends. Israel Wedding Beach BEACH_WEDDING1

THE VENUE + THEME
Sandra, the Bride:  I had always wanted to get married on the beach and I am really connected to Israel, and with my husband being Israeli it was the perfect place to celebrate!   We decided on decided on  Bamboo Village beach, in Poleg near Netanya, a beautiful coastal setting that was neither too big nor too small. It felt intimate enough, yet buzzy enough for what we were after. Obviously the theme of our wedding was the beach and we used sand and aqua green colours with white and touches of silver. We also added light balls on the sand, which made the path to the water glowing.

We had a venue designer and told her we wanted a simple beach design. I collected photos of styles I liked to make a mood board and she interpreted my ideas brilliantly. Everything from the chuppah to the seating to the lighting to the different zones (chill-out / party / bar) were designed by her beautifully with my creative lead.
