Founded by violinist Arda Karakaya, Kara Strings brings together highly skilled musicians trained at leading UK conservatoires, including the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music. Our performers regularly appear with major UK orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, and have worked on high-profile productions and events including Bridgerton, Warner Bros., Samsung, Adidas, Universal Music and private performances for the Royal Family.
We have extensive experience performing Jewish weddings at leading London venues including Claridge’s, The Dorchester, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Hedsor House and Cliveden. We understand the rhythm and meaning of a Jewish wedding, with traditional repertoire such as Erev Shel Shoshanim, Dodi Li, Hava Nagila and Siman Tov u’Mazal Tov performed alongside a repertoire of over 650 songs spanning classical, contemporary pop, Bridgerton-style arrangements, Bollywood and film music. From the chuppah to the reception, every set is thoughtfully curated with bespoke arrangements tailored to each celebration.
