The Elegante by Michelle J mission is to always create the most magical and memorable wedding days and weekends for my couples and their guests.
As a wedding planner with a niche specialisation in luxury destination weddings for UK and US based Jewish couples, I have visited, and had the privilege of working at, numerous overseas and UK venues.
I have also built fantastic relationships and effective collaborations with a whole host of extremely talented and professional wedding industry suppliers and I am passionate about sharing all of this knowledge, experience and passion to help create your dream wedding.
More and more couples are looking for a wedding weekend experience, and I bring my destination planning skills to all of the UK based wedding weekends that I plan in addition to my overseas weddings.
I provide a warm, friendly and personal service, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and creative flair. The benefits to you of working with a UK based planner, include:

- I will assist with items an overseas planner would not normally handle including the Chuppah (ceremony planning and legalities), guest list management, invitations and wedding day stationery and styling items, travel and accommodation logistics, entertainment (if bringing from the UK), likewise hair and make-up artists
- I am able to suggest ways in which to blend the host country wedding traditions with our own Jewish customs

Our wedding planner was the wonderful Michelle Jacobs of Elegante By Michelle J who we cannot praise enough. Every supplier Michelle (who we affectionately call Mich) recommended to us was brilliant. They really understood our vision and they were great people to work with. We wanted to keep things simple, elegant and romantic – the beautiful venue didn’t need a lot of dressing. We picked a white and gold colour scheme and had lots of romantic touches, such as fairy lights overhead and little candles on the tables. It was magical.
Throughout, Mich was always calm and incredibly organised. She intuited every detail, such as stiletto covers so women could walk on the grass. We were able to sunbathe and relax on the days leading up to the wedding because we completely trusted that everything was in hand. For the big day, Mich and her fantastic team took care of everything so we could just enjoy it and take it all in. I can’t thank her enough for that. It’s such a worthwhile decision having a planner if you’re getting married abroad.
We had Michelle as our wedding planner who was absolutely incredible to work with. She provided us with so much support and made our wedding ideas come to life. We wanted our wedding to be a big party and that’s exactly what we achieved.
Michelle supports with every aspect of the wedding and it was great to have someone on board with so much experience of doing this before, knowledge of suppliers and to take on a lot of the logistics. The wedding was a true team effort between us, both sets of parents and Michelle, with my parents making multiple trips down from the Lake District to view venues, taste food and go over plans.
Michelle got on well with all of us and was great to have as part of our wedding team! Michelle made us feel supported in all these decisions, and by taking on lots of the arrangements and recommending several major suppliers, we were able to make time to really think about the details and things we wanted for the day without having to worry about the logistics – which is exactly what I think the role of a wedding planner should be!
Thank you to Michelle for helping us to create the wedding of our dreams. She managed to organise two massive events on successive nights in Florence and we were so impressed with how she manage to co-ordinate everything from the UK. We will be forever grateful to Michelle for making such an important occasion so personalised and special.
