Full Moon Resort

Imagine family and friends in a flowered field, in a grand, rustic barn, or on the dance floor of an elegant wedding pavilion, gathered in celebration of one of life’s most precious moments. A red-tailed hawk soars high overhead, as the gentle waters of the Esopus Creek spill over moss-covered rocks in the distance. The mountains rise up all around.

Full Moon Resort, located just one half hour west of Woodstock, NY and about two and half hours from NYC, offers a rustic, yet sophisticated backdrop for one-of-a-kind destination weddings. Idyllic, pastoral and farm-like, with a touch of Woodstock-inspired artistic sensibility, Full Moon Resort features over one hundred acres of meadows, forests and streams, along with comfortable country inn style accommodations… for your entire group of friends and family.

The facility hosts lovely outdoor creekside ceremonies and cocktails (complete with covered locations for inclement weather), followed by receptions, for intimate to very large gatherings, at the Moondance Pavilion or the artistically rustic Wedding Barn. The celebration is topped off with late night socializing at the “Roadhouse.”

Full Moon’s on-premises catering menus offer a full range of possibilities – hot buffet breakfasts and lunches in the Café… down-home country barbeques by the creek (campfire included!)…tantalizing hors d’oeuvres under the maple trees on the lawns…and formal gourmet dinners in the pavilion or barn.

This full service facility is also noted for years of outstanding service in event management and planning, and is a proud recipient of Trip Advisor’s “Hall of Fame” and “Award of Excellence,” Wedding Wire’s “Couple’s Choice Award,” and Borrowed and Blue’s “Best of B&B: Hudson Valley Weddings.” The ideal setting for a magical country wedding!

Past Couples' Comments

Outstanding – recommended without reservation.

Full Moon is a beautiful venue/catering/lodging combination run by an absolutely top-notch team.

THE SPACE. Full Moon’s setting is beautiful – full of trees and green and mountains, with a creek running through it. The wedding event venues are great – the newly built Pavilion is the single best reception hall that we saw in our research; the Barn is a charming older building which would serve well for smaller weddings or for the rehearsal dinner or after-wedding breakfast; the Roadhouse is great for an after-party following the reception. The grounds include about 60 rooms for on-site lodging; the newly renovated rooms are truly high end, while the older rooms are still quite nice (although more rustic/vintage).

THE TEAM. Paul Magaril gave us a great introduction to the grounds. Michael Densmore, one of the owners, is extremely fair, a straight shooter, and a pleasure to work with to sort out contractual matters. LeighAnn Trent was super helpful in taking care of our on-site guests. Chef Adam Kowalsky cooked up delicious meals (and handled our all-vegetarian menu with ease). Last but not least, Operations Manager Melanie Warner was awesome. Melanie ran the show the entire weekend, and had every detail 100% under control.

TURNKEY. The awesome thing about Full Moon is that you get to have many or all of your guests stay on-site, and Full Moon provides catering in-house, so it’s one big combo turnkey package which lets you focus on customizing the details that actually matter to you.

If your vision is to have a wedding in nature, and you find appealing the idea of having everything taken care of under one roof (lodging, catering, venue) then you absolutely must book Full Moon Resort.”
