Real Jewish Brides: Jaime’s Pre-Wedding Photoshoot and Wedding Planning Update

07/05/2019 by Smashing The Glass

Jaime will be marrying Varun on 26th October 2019 at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, California, USA. Click here to read all Jaime’s planning posts to date.

THREE FACTS: (1) Jaime and Varun will be having a Jewish ceremony AND a Hindu ceremony – on the same day! (2) They’re planning a swanky but not stuffy wedding at one of our fave California venues, Hummingbird Nest Ranch! (3) Jaime is a member of Smashing The Glass’s Brides Club!

A pre-wedding photo shoot in a natural wonder

It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged but so much has been happening and I can’t wait to share it with you!

I am literally writing this as I’m at the airport coming from our amazing pre-wedding photo shoot that we did with our photographer, Clane Gessel.

When we signed up with Clane, he told us we could do a pre wedding photoshoot to anywhere in the US and when we saw the photos he had done at White Sands Beach NM – we knew we had to do it there.

White Sands Beach is a sight to be seen – there is nothing like it as it is a true natural wonder. We got the most amazing shots and had the best time shooting with Clane and his assistant Chloe.

Here is a sneak peek from the shoot…

Changing wedding planner

In other news, we ended up shifting our wedding planning team. This was a hard decision that we had to make as a couple – but all in all I am glad that we made this choice 6 months out from our wedding rather than 6 weeks.

In the search for our new team, I was recommended Leora of Best Bride. Not only did I see her on another STG wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch (our venue), but I also couldn’t help but notice I recognized her from one of my favorite Bravo TV Shows – Shahs of Sunset.

From the minute I spoke to Leora – I knew that she would be the one to carry us throughout the rest of our wedding journey. I flew to LA with my mom in mid April to meet Leora and her team and go over the wedding details. She put together a strategic timeline for us that made me feel very settled and at ease.

Six months left and so much to do

Meanwhile – it seems like even though there is about 6 months left to our wedding – there is still so much to be done!

May 10 weekend I am heading to NYC with my mom to meet with my MOH and bridesmaids  so that we can go bridesmaid dress shopping (yay!)

In late May I will be returning to LA for hair and makeup trials as well as meetings with several other vendors that Leora is setting up. Then I will fly to SF to meet Varun where him and I will start the design process for our Indian outfits.

Mid June mom and I fly to Israel to meet with my dress designer – Helena Kolan!

We sent out our save the dates and our guests are excited to join us on our special day!
