Everyone LOVES a celebrity wedding — the lavish details, the glamorous guest list — and everybody LOVES a Jewish wedding for the atmosphere, the food and, of course, the dancing! So you can only imagine how people feel about Jewish celebrity weddings (hint, it’s very positive), and our fabulous Smashing Suppliers are no exception!
We asked the STG family which Jewish weddings they wish they could have attended, and, unsurprisingly, they had quite a bit to say.

Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher’s Wedding
Yael from Made in Israel Events said: “Everyone has a dark secret, I think it’s time I reveal mine. Since I was nine years old, and to this day, I have loved watching the daily Australian soap ‘Home and Away’. I follow all the latest news on the show’s stars and watch all the episodes online. The characters keep changing, but the plot pretty much remains the same. What can I do? I’m addicted!
One of the most beautiful Home and Away stars back in the ’90s was Isla Fisher. When I heard she married Sacha Baron Cohen, I truly was happy that the Jewish people are now gaining some Aussie glam. I definitely would have loved to have seen those two tying the knot and smashing the glass.”
Madeleine Barton from The Savoy said “Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are both amazing at what they do and it was a very small, intimate wedding just for friends and family, so rather than showing off their huge celebrity status they had the wedding exactly how they both had envisaged it.
Isla was also quoted as saying “I will definitely have a Jewish wedding just to be with Sacha. I would do anything — move into any religion — to be united in marriage with him. We have a future together, and religion comes second to love as far as we are concerned.” I think this shows the power of love over everything else in this world which I think is especially important in the world we currently live in.”
Debbie from Qube Events said “I embrace quirkiness and I am sure that Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher’s wedding was full of it. Any chance to be creative and unique is right up our street!”

Anne Hathaway & Adam Shulman’s Wedding
Bruce Russell from The Savoy said “I have long been a fan of Anne Hathaway since before “The Devil Wears Prada”, and love her sense of style and elegance… a modern day Grace Kelly – so I woul have loved to have been present at her wedding to Adam Shulman.
Their wedding (from what we saw online) combined both their faiths and pictures a true fairytale of love, romance and celebrating with their family and friends. To me that’s what it’s all about!”
Dom from York Place Studios said “Anne Hathaway’s smile is so stunning, she lights up every room. I absolutely adored her Valentino Couture wedding dress and her 1920s inspired headband; a gorgeous combination.”

Natalie Portman & Benjamin Millepied’s Wedding
Isabel Stewart from Wickham House said “Natalie Portman has such a classic sense of style – subtle but beautiful – and she had a nature-inspired wedding at Big Sur, which I just love!
Additionally, she seems like a very down-to-earth person who wanted a more intimate affair, which is my favourite sort of wedding to host.”
Denis from Denee Motion said “I would have loved to have been at Natalie Portman’s wedding. She is one of the most humble actresses in Hollywood, and, besides, Big Sur is a place I visit every year and it inspires and revitalises me for the whole year.”

Adam Sandler & Jackie Titone’s Wedding
Chaim from Chaim Schvarcz Photography said “I can imagine how chilled out Adam Sandler’s wedding would have been, and, of course, ADAM SANDLER!! It’s funny how, based on movies and the public lifestyle that celebrities live, we feel like we know them to some extent, and, based on that ‘knowledge’, I’m sure that Adam Sandler’s wedding would have been an awesome party to be at.. and amazing to photograph!”
Geoff from Ambassador Band said “I think that Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone’s wedding would have been a hilarious and highly entertaining day. Apart from the serious part of getting married, I can imagine that the rest of the celebration was full of fun and had plenty of comedy elements to it!”
Dimitria from Dimitria Jordan said “I can imagine that Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone’s wedding had a fun and laid-back vibe, but still with lots of pretty details (and Adam Sandler is one of my favourite comedic actors)!”
Shaun from Shaun Taylor Photography said “Happy Gilmore’ and ‘The Wedding Singer’ are two of my favourite films. I’d be hoping he’d give everyone a little serenade, of course!”

Charlotte & Harry York-Goldenblatt’s Wedding
Kylie from Kylie McMichael Hair and Makeup said “I would LOVE to have been at the wedding of Charlotte and Harry York-Goldenblatt. She made such a beautifully stunning bride, and, if I was her friend, I would have loved to have witnessed her having such a beautiful wedding to a man that was so genuine, caring and loved her so very much.
She was one of the first brides I ever saw to have maids in mismatching, luxury fashion outfits in such a powerful colour: black. I preferred her dress to her first one (from her previous wedding), and her Chuppah was classic, minimal and not hugely opulent, adorned with lilies – I bet it smelled incredible! Just perfect. From a hair and makeup point of view, she looked gorgeous. Again, classic: a subtle contoured eye and a complementary red lip.”

Seth Rogen & Lauren Miller’s Wedding
Melanie from Melanie Potrà³ said ‘I would have loved to have been invited to Seth Rogen’s wedding. The location looked great, surrounded by vineyards and the bride wore a beautiful wedding gown. I think that everyone at the wedding had great a laugh. This is the best part of any wedding, when everyone comes together and has a great time.”

Debbie Reynolds & Eddie Fisher’s Wedding
Stefania and Valentina from Italian Wedding Company said “Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher’s wedding on 26th September 1955 was a real fairytale for the United States, as Debbie Reynolds was America’s sweetheart at that time, thanks to Singing in the Rain.
Amateur photos and footage of the wedding show how extraordinary the atmosphere was in Hollywood during the ’50s. We know that all that glitters isn’t gold, but we chose this wedding because it transports us to a special time when the world of celebrity was very different from now.
Elegance and style at that time was really something. Being present at Debbie and Eddie’s wedding could have meant learning more about that wonderful age and meeting Hollywood myths such as Liz Taylor, her best friend at the time, and many others for sure.
Despite how the marriage ended, we think that that would have been the best one to witness.
This is for us also a very special tribute to Debbie Reynolds, and her wonderful daughter, Carrie Fisher, who left us last December.”

Rachel Weisz & Daniel Craig’s Wedding
Candice from Paper Anniversary said “I think I would go with Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig, because who wouldn’t want to be at a James Bond’s wedding?”

Tzeitel & Motel from Fiddler on the Roof’s Wedding
Liesl from Lamare London said “I must have watched Fiddler on the Roof so many times over the years, and the wedding of Tzeitel and Motel gives me goosebumps every time.
The ceremony focuses entirely on Jewish tradition and Tzeitel and Motel’s love for one another as they adoringly sneak glances of one another. I love how their wedding is filled with sincerity and sentimentality, completely stripped back of fuss and frills. You can even feel how moved their guests are as they witness the marriage of the bride and groom – and it’s this love that makes a wedding for me.”

Danny & Aaron’s Wedding
Jenna from Jenna Keller Events said “Mine has got to be your incredible post on the fabulous gay wedding in LA – Danny and Aaron’s Wedding. It was styled to absolute perfection. I love how they designed a modern R & R monogram and used it on everything throughout the day. They went all out and rode in on a unicorn!! They had an incredible line up of celebrity entertainers including performances by John Legend, Ciara and Joss Stone. What’s not to love?”
