How stunning is today’s Jewish wedding?! Aly, a recent law school graduate, and Shlomo, who works for his family’s packaging business, crafted the perfect summer-garden themed day in pink and peach, and we are all about it.
And would you believe they made it happen right in the middle of Washington, D.C.? Yep – this wedding took place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., which the couple loved for the way it combines fabulous outdoor hardens with easy proximity to downtown.
We’re obsessed with the exquisite photos by Kir Tuben – the couple met Kir when she photographed Aly’s sister’s wedding, and they adored her photography style, wedding-day energy, and passion for her work.

How we Met
Aly, the bride and Shlomo, the groom: We met through mutual friends while living in D.C. after college.
A D.C. Wedding
We were married at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. We loved the venue for its large outdoor gardens and pool and because we wanted to bring all of our friends and family together in one central location for the weekend. This historic hotel—overlooking Rock Creek Park, which is one of our favorite places in the city, and within walking distance of downtown D.C.—was perfect.
Summer Garden Vibes
We planned a summer garden-style wedding in pink and peach tones with a ballroom reception. Our day-of-coordinator was from Sara Muchnick Events.
An Essense of Australia Dress
Aly wore an Essense of Australia dress from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal Collection.
Shoes
Aly wore Stuart Weitzman Allison Strap Heels gifted to her by Shlomo’s mom.
Ceremony and Chuppah
Love Blooms, our florist, designed our special chuppah at a custom height to match the garden gazebo at the venue. We knew we wanted a traditional ceremony surrounded by friends and family and that’s exactly what we had.
We loved having a beautiful, rambunctious, outdoor Tisch and Bedeken on the patio before the ceremony. Our ketubah was handwritten by a rabbi family friend in Israel and decorated by his artist wife.
Our Music Choice
We had acoustic guitarists, Boaté and Ajluni Duo, playing during our cocktail hour and a DJ for the reception. We made sure to play a mix of Israeli, Persian, and traditional wedding music, but our favourite part was the Hora and rocking out to Bleachers at the end of the night. Our friends’ cheering, singing, and non-stop dancing really made the night.
Flowers
Love Blooms designed our beautiful bouquets, chuppah, and centerpieces to blend with the colors in the garden.
Photographer
Our photographer Kir Tuben was absolutely amazing. We met Kir when she photographed Aly’s sister’s wedding and loved her photography style, wedding-day energy, and passion for her work. We had the best time working with Kir both for the wedding and an engagement shoot.
Food
Justin at Signature Caterers made sure we had great food, great service, and everything we needed all weekend long. Having Signature was like having a second day-of planner running everything seamlessly behind the scenes.
Advice to other couples planning their wedding
Don’t let the details distract you from the big picture! At the end of the day, it’s about your marriage and being with the people you love.
