Brothers Alexander and Jason chose to have their weddings back to back in Israel, so it was only fitting that we should feature their weddings back to back on Smashing The Glass! Jason and Nicole’s big day went live on Wednesday – and Melissa and Alexander’s is featured right now – today!
The decision was made to have the two Jewish weddings in quick succession as the brothers shared many guests and wanted to ensure that they didn’t have to fly to Israel twice. We love that the two brothers shared in each other’s joy in that way – for Jason and Alexander, it really as all about family.
As well as sharing guests, the pair shared an incredible photographer and DJ, but we’ll get to that….
We love the whole aesthetic of this stunning Israeli big day. From the couple’s fashion-forward and elegant outfit choices (that Pnina Tornai dress, though – serious wedding dress envy) to the magnificent floral chuppah, put together by the genius KBY Designs.
We also think the children’s choir is such a moving, and seriously adorable idea – so original and cute!
Melissa and Alexander’s impeccable taste extended, of course, to their choice of photographer Ran Bergman, who we absolutely adore, for reasons which will become obvious as you scroll through his divine set of pictures. We love this wedding!
An Israeli destination venue
Melissa and Alexander were married at Al Hayam in Caesarea.
A world-class wedding planner
KBY Designs, one of the world’s finest event planners, were responsible for creating the concept for this wedding and producing the wedding, as well as the whole party and the celebrations before the event.
Everything was beautifully designed — Melissa loves orchids, so there was a lot of white and purple integrated.
KBY really takes dreams and makes them a reality, even better than the family could have imagined. Making every last detail absolutely perfect and putting together the best of the best vendors out there!
An action-packed wedding program
The couple had a five-page program filled wigh a schedule of all the events, including the wedding; pool party a night before the wedding; a fun day tour in Jerusalem and a Shabbat candle lighting.
The dress
The stunning wedding dress designed by Pnina Tornai.
Designer heels
The bride wore a pair of beautiful Jimmy Choo heels.
Fun pre-wedding pampering
Melissa’s hair was styled by Amir Eliyahu and her makeup was by Elinor Tobailem, who Melissa says made getting ready for the big day beautiful, fun and stress free.
A stunning floral chuppah
KBY designed the spectacular, floral chuppah.
An incredible rabbi
The rabbi for the wedding ceremony was Rabbi Lau, who used to serve as Chief Rabbi of Israel a few years ago and is the Recipient of the Israel Prize for Life Achievement.
A children’s choir
A children’s choir sang All You Need Is Love as Alexander entered to the chuppah.
Just before Melissa’s entrance, they sang Avinu Shebashamaim.
The cantor was Yitzhak Meir Helfgot and he sang Boi Beshalom when the bride and her parents walked down the aisle.
Cantor Helfgot also sang If I Forget You, Jerusalem before breaking the glass.
The DJ played The Best Day Of My Life for the smashing of the glass!
Our fabulous photographer
Alexander and Melissa, the bride and groom: Ran Bergman captured each and every special moment, as well as the love and vibe of the party. Starting with our engagement shoot, where we had a blast running around Tel Aviv and Jaffa only hours before our flight.
An amazing wedding DJ
DJ Gil Fux provided the entertainment.
