How gorgeous is Tash and Joel’s fabulous London Jewish wedding?! It’s 100% pure #weddinggoals… and of course it doesn’t hurt that the couple chose to work with some of our very favorite Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendors.
First off, how wonderful are the photos by Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Mike Garrard?! Tash and Joel chose Mike for his natural, candid style and the way he makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease – and did he ever do a perfect job of capturing the day!
Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Alexandra’s Florist was responsible for the pair’s lovely flowers – don’t miss their exquisite floral chuppah! – and they can’t praise Alexandra enough for her patience and attentiveness in taking the time to show Tash and Joel lots of different designs and collaborating with them curate just the right look and feel.
Then there was Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Totem, who got the party started in their trademark fashion. The band’s beautiful voices and incredible energy came together to create an unforgettable atmosphere that had everyone on the dancefloor throughout the night.
Smashing The Glass recommended Vendor Toastmaster Jango kept everything together, ensuring the event ran smoothly, on schedule and all done with a cheeky smile and sense of humour.
Last but certainly not least, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Just Smile took charge of Tash and Joel’s production needs, and the couple raves about how they were not only always on hand to answer questions and give advice, but on the day they made the ballroom come alive and created an epic party atmosphere with their fab lighting.
There’s so much more to say, but we’ll leave the rest to Tash, who looked uber chic in Martina Liana…
How we Met
Tash, the bride: Joel and I met on Jswipe, but we have known each other for years and years, so it was a welcomed match.
An Art Deco Venue
We got married at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. We absolutely loved the art deco interior of the ball room, we thought it had a wonderful charm about it, as well as character and warmth.
Hair + Make-up
I had the most amazing make-up artist and hairdresser, who I couldn’t recommend more! Natalie R Vella (make-up) and Carly Williams (hair) are wizards! They made me and my bridesmaids feel relaxed from the start – which is important when they are with you all day. They both made me feel like the best version of myself, which is exactly how I wanted to feel.
A Martina Liana Dress
My dress was from a shop called Pure Couture and I had such a wonderful experience with them! They were so helpful from start to finish, whilst also being very patient. They know how to make a bride feel special – they sent follow up cards and thank you notes, which was a lovely and unexpected touch.
My dress was from Martina Liana – an incredibly talented Ozzy designer. I went for a shape and design that was the total opposite to what I thought I would go for (always the way), but the moment I put it on, as cliché as it sounds, I knew it was the dress I wanted to get married in. I could not stop smiling and I did not want to take it off!
Flowers
We wanted simple but effective flowers, something with height in-particular as the room had such high ceilings. We chose to go with fresh colours – whites and greens with pops of pink to compliment the colour of the room. We also wanted something a little ‘messier’ with lots of texture. It is fair to say that Alexandra’s Florist, our wonderful florist, nailed the brief.
Alexandra came highly recommended, with lots of our friends having used her for their weddings. She was incredibly patient, taking the time to show us lots of different designs and collaborating with us to curate the right look and feel that would suit the type of wedding we wanted.
We were so happy with how it all came together on the day; I could not stop staring at the room all night, the chuppah and the table centres were even more beautiful than I could have hoped for.
Photographer
Mike Garrard was our photographer. We loved how natural Mikes style was – he captures the essence of a couples day so beautifully in such a candid fashion (which was important to us, we don’t like to be too ‘posed’), his photos make you want to smile when you look at them.
I had also been a bridesmaid for my best friend’s wedding where Mike was the photographer, he made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease on the day, so when it came to deciding who we wanted, it felt like a no brainer to go for Mike. I could not recommend him more, it was a pleasure to have Mike around on the day and our photos are perfect, we cannot wait to print them out!
Food and Cake
Arieh Wagner of Starguest was our caterer and in short, he and his team were nothing short of fantastic. The canapes flowed from start to finish and in general the food was delicious, piping hot, beautifully presented and there was SO much of it!
Joel and I are both big foodies, so it was important to us that the food reflected that, which it absolutely did – we still get complimented on it!
Entertainment
When it came to picking our band, we knew exactly who we wanted. Totem are renowned for creating an unbelievable atmosphere with their insane voices and fun vibe. They know exactly how to get a party started! Moni had everyone crying during the ceremony from the moment he started singing (his voice is stunning) and the band had everyone up and dancing throughout the night.
Each and every member of the band has a beautiful voice and together they are magic! Totem made our night unforgettable, and I cannot wait to see them at our friends / families wedding later this year.
The guys at Just Smile Production were fantastic from start to finish. They were always on hand to give us advice and answer our last minute questions. They made the room come alive with the lighting and created a party atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
Our toastmaster, Jango also kept everything together, ensuring the event ran smoothly, on schedule and all done with a cheeky smile and sense of humour. We would highly recommend him for a stress-free event.
Favours
I wanted to add a little personal touch to our friends tables whilst also setting the tone for how Joel and I wanted the evening to go. For that reason, we put little shot bottles of tequila on each persons place setting with a personalised label saying, “we tied the knot so take a shot”. It was only a small thing, but it was a fun addition to the table.
