We love a glam Jewish wedding, so we were thrilled to see that Debra and Brandon went full-on with their New Year’s Eve wedding! Opting for a “festive black tie” dress code, they went with a mirror theme, including a mirrored chuppah and mirrored dance floor, and naturally they ended the night with a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight!
Florida couple Debra and Brandon, both attorneys, were looking for a venue where they could have a kosher wedding on a holiday weekend, and The Addison in Boca Raton was the perfect spot for the couple’s celebration. Check out how absolutely chic every detail was from start to finish in the wonderful photos by Jack Bates Photography!
We can’t turn you over to Debra before remarking on her incredibly elegant custom gown by Mark Ingram – just the perfect look for this perfect day!
How We Met
Debra, the bride: We met on Hinge at the start of Covid
A Kosher Wedding
We got married at The Addison in Boca Raton. We wanted to get married on a Sunday on a holiday weekend in Florida and needed a venue that hosted kosher weddings. Brandon is from Florida, and it is where we now live. The Addison fit the bill because they do kosher weddings and allowed us to host a New Year’s Eve wedding.
Our reception and ceremony were outside in the Addison’s courtyard but we moved into their main ballroom at 11pm for our afterparty which culminated with a champagne toast and balloon drop from the ceiling at midnight!
Theme & Wedding Planner
Our dress code was “festive black tie”. We had our bridesmaids wear fun emerald green gowns and the men’s kippahs were emerald green with sparkling palm trees. We had a mirror theme with a mirrored dance floor, chuppah and aisle runner (also mirrored chargers and centerpieces for the tables). We added pink florals for a Florida pop of color! Our amazing planner was Jacque Basile from Stunning and Brilliant Events. Cindy Pierce from the Addison made our New Years wedding more sparkling and festive than we could have ever imagined!
My dog Teddy (a shih tzu who I rescued during covid) wore a tuxedo during the getting ready photos and was featured as a cardboard cut out during the after party.
Invitation
Our invitations were from Mark Harris Stationery in newton MA by Lisa Wyett 🙂
Hair + Makeup
My cousin Diane Mammola did my makeup which was very special! Bombshell Makeovers did my hair and bridesmaids hair and makeup.
A Mark Ingram Dress
My dress was custom Mark Ingram from Mark Ingram Alterier in New York. It featured removable straps that I took off after the ceremony for dancing. I also changed into an after party dress from Watters.
I planned to do a first look with my dad but he randomly walked into room so it ended up being impromptu and I started crying (some of my favorite photos). Brandon and I snuck away to a nearby beach for a few beach shots before ceremony.
Accessories + Shoes
I wore classic white Mahnolo Blahnik shoes! I wore blue sapphire studs (something blue) in a heart shape and a Van Cleef bracelet that Brandon gave me a few days before our wedding.
Bridesmaids
I had my bridesmaids wear an emerald green gown of their choosing! I just asked that it be New Years themed (sparkly, velvet, satin etc.)
Bridesmaids wore matching champagne print pajamas to honor the New Years theme when getting ready! We even popped some champagne while getting ready. My twin sister and maid of honor wore her own distinct print of champagne pajamas!
Ceremony & Chuppah
Rabbi Michael Berg flew in from New York to officiate our ceremony. His wife Monica Berg also spoke at the ceremony. Our ketubah was custom made by a family friend.
Our music choice
We used Celebrity Entertainment for a mix of modern and old classics. Debra and her friends are country music fans (her bachelorette party was in Nashville) so they played lots of Country at the after party!
Flowers
Daniel Events did beautiful mixed pink arrangements for the center pieces, bouquets and coursages. Daniel Events also set up and designed the mirrored chuppah, aisle and dance floor. Daniel Events also provided the midnight balloon drop and the floral chandeliers for the after party.
Photographer & Videographer
Our photographer and videographer was Jack Bates Photography! In our opinion, no one captures Florida weddings like Jack. All of his photos are works of art.
Honeymoon
We honeymooned in Bora Bora and Hawaii!
