Best of Bridal Week: Ines Di Santo Wedding Dress 2017 Collection

22/04/2016 by Karen

In a delightful nod to the wonders of Spring, we continue our journey through New York Bridal Fashion Week with Ines Di Santo‘s Spring 2017 Collection.

With huge, cascading pink and white flowers setting the scene for the show in Chelsea’s light-soaked IAC Building, the season’s romance and playfulness took over all the senses as the designer’s flowing gowns drifted down the runway. From soft volume skirts to playful peplum silhouettes and high-low cuts, Ines Di Santo continues to create styles to inspire every shape and personality. Plunging necklines, illusion sheaths and delicately layered lightweight tulle are intricately treated to floral appliquà©s and light-catching crystals and sequins sure to make the bride feel as breathtaking as she should.

A WORD FROM THE DESIGNER

For this collection, I pulled from spring herself, imagining the flowers that emerge in the season and the path they take from seed to sunlight – I have used lace, embroideries and movement in my gowns to push forward an unexpected place. While still soft and romantic, my bride will stand – dressed only for herself and the one she loves”

Every dress from Ines Di Santo’s Spring 2017 collection is pictured below,  and if you want to take a peek at the fabulous  Ines Di Santo being worn by real brides on Smashing The Glass, simply head right  here.

Best of Bridal Week: Mira Zwillinger Wedding Dress 2017 Collection

16/04/2016 by Karen

As New York Bridal Fashion Week heads off to an exciting start, it is with great pleasure that we share with you our very first look at Mira Zwillinger‘s breathtaking new collection.

With the upscale exclusivity of the Harmonie Club setting the scene for the show, beaded vines and branches, leaves, flowers and petal appliquà©s adorn the luxurious fabrics, every detail transporting us to the beauty of nature. As the name suggests, ‘Whisper of Blossom’ is a tantalising collection of luxurious, à¼ber-feminine creations evocative of the whimsical energy of winter turning to spring. Mira Zwillinger’s signature silhouettes, graced with textured silk organza, the softest of sheer tulle and Chantilly lace, all made for the bride to feel at her most sensual and intriguing.

A WORD FROM THE DESIGNER

After every long winter comes a spring, inspiring new life in its wake. First buds appear on base branches and he magic of nature unfolds. Our Spring 2017 Collection is a nod to that magic. From fabric springs art and handmade creation blossoms with ornate beading and hand-cut ivory and blush flower appliquà©s. Spun from sheer illusion silk tulle, the collection came together in a symphony of luxurious femininity.

Every dress from Mira Zwillinger’s Spring 2017 collection is pictured below. World Cup 2014! Football themed wedding – moodboard and creative ideas

12/06/2014 by Karen

With the World Cup  kicking off today, even I can’t escape thinking about the the so-called beautiful game  right now. It’s fair to say I’m not a huge fan, but  if you happen to be  a footie fanatic, and your partner shares your passion, I’ve come up with loads of fun ideas  for a football-themed wedding.

football-themed-wedding

Football inspired weddings are a little bit tongue-in-cheek so you can have a whole lot of fun with this theme. How about walking down the aisle to the ‘Match of the Day‘ theme tune for starters?! Incorporate your team’s colours into your and your groom’s accessories, and you don’t have to dress your bridesmaids in football tops  — you could again  simply have them wear shawls and shoes in your team colours.

If you can manage to hold your ceremony at a football stadium (this Jewish wedding  was held at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United!) there will be unlimited candid photo opps, but remember that at any venue, you can set up  your wedding photos to be done in “team shot” style

Hire a table football game, create football ticket invitations, have a football wedding cake, use red and yellow cards as place settings, have flower arrangements in football boots, use football scarves as favours and  decorations,  name  your tables after some of your  favourite players, have a  football themed table plan… and the fun doesn’t have to stop there!

Tell me  about if you have  a  football  or sporty themed wedding planned —  I’d love to hear all about it  in the comments section below!
