Marbella is such a magical spot for a Jewish wedding, and Lauren and Daryl’s is truly something special. Finca La Concepcion was the perfect backdrop for their big day, with its glam garden vibes.
This was one epic party, and Lauren and Daryl brought in all kinds of fun touches to make the day truly theirs – like a “take your pair and find your chair” seating plan, with a wall covered with sunglasses for all the guests to take!
Another special thing about this wedding is the fact that Lauren and Daryl were able to have both sets of grandparents with them under the chuppah, alongside their parents – how touching is that?!
Throw in a stunning floral chuppah and an uber-elegant gown by Israeli designer Berta, and we’re sold. Nora Photography and Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Denee Motion captured the day so perfectly – don’t miss the breathtaking cinematic trailer!
Now over to Lauren…
How We Met
Lauren, the bride: We met in school and got together when we were 19 years old.
A Wedding in Marbella
We got married in Marbella at Finca La Concepcion. We always wanted to get married abroad in a venue that we could stay outside all night. It was PERFECT!
Garden Magic
Our wedding planners were Sunshine Wedding Spain.
As our venue was basically one big garden it was a blank canvas I wanted it to look as magical as I could. The colour scheme was white and baby pinks. And I knew at night we needed to light the place up so I asked our florist to fill the trees with chandeliers and the pools and fountains with candles.
Invitation/Stationery
As our wedding was abroad, we used Hitchd — the website for all our wedding itinerary, including hen and stag, welcome parties, the wedding day and our beach club day information.
Hair + Makeup
My hairdresser was Sarah-Louise Okin. And my makeup was Kourtney Hammett.
They are the best in the game! My makeup and hair did not budge the entire night. Hair still looked amazing the next morning and even after a full night of dancing my make up was still in tact.
They also made me feel so calm on the morning and also made the morning really fun.
I also had 2 other hair and make up artists for my bridesmaids — Alanna for hair and Éva Gabriella for makeup.
A Berta Dress
My dress was a Berta. I got it from The Wedding Club in Knightsbridge. I have known for years and years I always wanted a Berta, the glitz and sparkle is me to a tea! The moment I saw it, I knew it was the one. I kept looking at photos of it! I added my own little touches to the dress like the diamond straps and the diamond waistband and it couldn’t have turned out more perfect. Mel at the wedding club was my sales associate, she is just everything and more! She made me feel so special and I couldn’t recommend her anymore!
Accessories & Shoes
My veil was a Berta veil, and my shoes were Jimmy Choo.
Bridesmaids
My bridesmaids wore white silk dresses. I always wanted my bridesmaids in white as I thought it looks so classy in all the photos and they all look so beautiful.
Ceremony & Chuppah
We had both sets of grandparents under the chuppah with us including our parents too. This was so special to have them there with us! The chuppah design I knew exactly what I wanted and our florists Studio 8 made my vision come to life! I wanted the front of the chuppah to be filled with gorgeous roses and hydrangeas and it just looked beautiful. Our favourite part of the ceremony was definitely meeting in the middle for the bedecking. It was a very special moment!
Ketubah
We chose the ketubah from a website our rabbi sent us, we chose the one with the most special words to us.
Our music choice
We had Totem Superstars as our band. They knew exactly the vibe we wanted. We gave them a list of songs we loved and they played off of that. We had a mix of 80s and current and then the DJ played for the last hour.
Flowers
Florist was Studio 8.
The bouquets and button holes were blush and white roses.
We had round and long tables, on the long tables we had eucalyptus running along the tables with all different types of flowers on top with different sized candles running along the tables. The table centres on the round tables were taken from my aisle.
Photographer and videographer
Videographer was Denee Motion and photographer Nora Photography.
I chose Denee as I had met him a few times and his work is just amazing. And with Nora I just got a good vibe off of her and loved her style from her instagram.
Extra Details
In our reception area we had a wall which said take a pair and find your chair. It was a wall filled with sunglasses that our guest could take. This was a massive hit with all our guests as during the party when the night got dark, everyone put the sunglasses on Everyone loved this.
We also had a huge mirror which we actually used as our table plan. We had the vinyl made which our florist put on for us. The florist also covered the mirror and the sunglasses wall with the same flowers from our chuppah.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
Just enjoy the whole build up. Everything will go to plan and anything that doesn’t on the day you won’t even notice and your guests definitely won’t!
Try not to be so nervous, everyone that’s there is there because they mean something to you and your husband.
Everyone will have fun! Who doesn’t with good music and lovely cocktails!
