As soon as I got engaged back in September 2012, one of the first things I wanted to research (well, apart from my dress!) was my wedding photographer. I knew I wanted a documentary / reportage style and had I known about Mark Seymour he would have most certainly been a top pick! I love his portfolio and, having recently chatted away with him, adore his lovely, easy manner. It was like chatting to an old friend, and this kind of rapport is so important when it comes to choosing who is going to snap your big day.
His style is classically elegant, combining reportage with a hint of traditional , and his unobtrusive ethos would be the perfect accompaniment to a really smashing wedding. I just know he’d capture it in the way it truly deserves to be shown.
It’ll come as no surprise to you that his work has already been showcased on the pages of Smashing The Glass – I love featuring his images on my blog and it’s always an absolute pleasure to get a submission from him.
I must mention Mark’s accolades too. Not only has he been named ‘UK Wedding Photographer of the Year’ three times, he has also recently been made an Ambassador of Nikon UK. And if that wasn’t enough he is the first recipient of an associateship from the Master Photographer Association (akin to two Michelin stars in the restaurant world) for his wedding reportage and documentary images.
Oh, and for all you fashionistas out there, you’ll be interested to hear that Mark’s portrait of shoe designer Jimmy Choo (whose heels are featured all over the blog) hangs in London’s world-famous National Portrait Gallery.
Mark’s been shooting weddings for over 20 years and started photographing them because “it was the most natural thing to do. It was, and still is, both my passion and hobby. I love being involved with a couple on the most important day of their life – capturing all those beautiful moments that create such special memories for their future.”
I also love that Mark brings a diversity to his wedding photography, with both London street art and his own collection of fine art imagery included in his portfolio.
Mark Seymour’s wedding photography packages start from £1995, and he is available to shoot weddings in the UK and all over Europe.
For more info or to see more of Mark’s work and to discuss your own personal wedding photography requirements, head on over to his website or contact Mark by email on mark@markseymourphotography.co.uk. He currently has limited space for 2014 weddings so get in touch asap!
