Today’s wedding is 100% pure #chuppahgoals. In fact, everything about this wedding is #GOALS! Davina and Faraz chose to marry at the ultra-elegant Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, and Butterfly Floral transformed the hotel’s ballroom into an absolute floral wonderland.
And then there’s the ombre chuppah. Starting with hot pink roses at the bottoms of the super cool curved columns (a totally awesome, unique design feature), the flowers fade gradually to light pink and then to white. An enormous ring of white roses frames the talit in the center — and, as a sweet detail, there are even little roses hanging from the top of the chuppah, under the talit. Totally jaw-dropping.
Between that chuppah, the bridal party entrances (SO good – watch the film below!), the stunning pink rose table runners (they really are beyond), Davina’s Swarovski-encrusted Louboutins and dress of dreams, and the floral fabulousness, this wedding is pure STG Luxe and we LOVE it!
Videographer David Medill produced a wedding video not to be missed — as much for the raw emotion of the ceremony and ketubah signing as for the wild dancing!
Speaking of wild dancing, music was ably handled by Liv Entertainment, one of our VIB [Very Important Bride] Vendors, offering a 10% discount to members of the VIB Club. They’re just one of many handpicked vendors offering discounts or free gifts to members of our club (who also receive around-the-clock support and advice from my team and me, plus all kinds of cool bridal extras and goodies). If you haven’t joined yet, don’t delay as we’ll be closing membership for this quarter next Thursday April 26th!
Photographer Jessica Claire did simply the most outstanding job of capturing the couple’s dreamy day, and they can’t stop raving about her fantastic energy and sweet personality. This fab photographer, who works in California and New York, also is another of our VIB Vendors, offering a $250 discount on any wedding package only to members of the VIB Club.
I’m sure you’re impatient to see some more of the couple’s fantasy florals by now, so I’ll turn you over to bride Davina, who looked like a princess in her stunning strapless lace Monique Lhuillier gown (which she bought in Paris!).
A Hollywood Wedding
Davina, the bride: Faraz and I got married at the Beverly Wilshire on Wilshire Boulevard. It has always been one of my favorite hotels because of its elegance both from outside of the hotel and inside the ballroom. Not to mention, Pretty Woman (one of my favorite movies of all time) was filmed there!
Flowers for Days
Faraz and I knew that we wanted to create something unique, creative, and memorable. We wanted to make the ballroom a magical and enchanting experience. Kate Carlson, our wedding planner, was AMAZING in brainstorming with us and then working with Butterfly Floral to bring our array of ideas to fruition. The ballroom was covered in flowers, crystals, and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling down, just slightly above the tables so it was within arm’s reach. It truly felt like a dream inside the ballroom.
Saying Yes to the Dress… in Paris!
Shortly after Faraz and I got engaged, I traveled to Paris with my family. Given that we were in the global center for fashion, it only felt right to check out the wedding dresses while we were there (though to be honest, I did not think I would actually find the dress).
My mom, sister, and I visited a bridal store, Metal Flaque, where I ended up finding my Monique Lhuillier dress. It was actually the first wedding dress I had ever tried on, and I instantly fell in love with it. I was obsessed with the delicate floral lace throughout the dress, and the back of the dress. Everything about it was perfect to me, and I really felt like a bride in it. We paired it with a beautiful lace veil and a crystal head piece.
An Ombre Floral Chuppah
We wanted something unique yet simple so as not to distract from the plentiful dà©cor throughout the ballroom. We created an ombre chuppah, and had the flowers gradually transform from white to hot pink, similar to the bundles of flowers we had flowing from the tables onto the floor. There were also little roses dangling from the top of the chuppah under the tallit.
A Very Special Ceremony
Alongside the ketubah signing, our ceremony was extremely special, and a moment that I reminisce on often. I walked out to The River Flows In You by Yiruma, a song that I knew I wanted to walk out to on my wedding day for many years. We had two violinists play the song live as I walked down. Faraz and I exchanged vows, which was my favorite part of the ceremony. It was such a pure moment where we shared our hearts and promises to one another under the chuppah, with all our families and friends around us to share the moment with us.
Signing the Ketubah
We had our ketubah signing right before the wedding ceremony with our families and closest friends. It was the most special part of the wedding day for the both of us. My childhood rabbi, Rabbi Feinstein, shared really powerful words and brought so much meaning to the entire process and day. He blessed us as our parents put their arms around us, and both Faraz and I felt the significance and depth behind it all. It was an indescriptible and emotional moment, and it was the perfect way to go into the ceremony.
Our fabulous photographer…
If anyone has seen Jessica Claire‘s work, they’ll know she is truly one-of-a-kind. Her photography is unparalleled, and we love how she loves to experiment with photos and locations. We are in love with every single photo from both our engagement shoot and our wedding day! Jessica is so sweet and brought such great energy to our day.
David Medill, our videographer, is so incredibly talented. He does a fantastic job at capturing the entire day and night in his short films and wedding video. We love how passionate and dedicated he is in ensuring that we love the end product — oh, and we do! He also captured our proposal, so we already had a great relationship with him! He is such a pleasure to work with.
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding
Remember that the day is about your love and promise to one another (everything else is just extra). Choose to not stress about anything that day and really just soak it all in, enjoy every aspect of the day, and live in the moment. It really will be the best day of your life.
